Congratulations to Alan Cox and Greg Jordon of Team Sharc Bait
for winning the TSA 2011 TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD.
The first time that Team Sharc Bait fished in a TSA Tournament was in July 2007.
The tournament was on Richland Chambers and they entered the tournament as Team Shallow Blonde.
I believe that Shallow Blonde was the name of Greg Jordan's boat, that was the boat they fished
out of at that tournament and they also had two other buddies fishing with them.
In the 2008 TSA Season, Alan and Gregg fished 5 tournaments and placed 2nd at the Lake Whitney
Tournament of that year and actually finished 5th overall for the 2008 TSA season. However, it
was not until the first tournament of 2009 that Alan and Greg finally won the big plaque with
the Striper on it (1st Place). That was the first tournament that I fished in and remember
well the huge Striper that Alan and Greg weigh-in that day.
Alan and Greg finished up the 2009 season with the 1st Place finish at Lake Texoma, 5th Place
at Lake Whitney, 2nd Place on their home lake, Lake Belton, 3rd at the June Lake Texoma
Tournament and 6th at the final tournament of the 2009 season at the Lake Belton July 2009
Tournament. Overall, Team Sharc Bait finished the season in 2nd place.
In 2010, Alan Cox of Team Sharc Bait took over the responsibilities for TSA President. The very first tournament Alan setup was on Possum Kingdom and managed to put together a $1,000 1st place prize. The 2010 TSA Tournament Trail was the most difficult year so far for Team Sharc Bait. They finished 6th place overall, but did manage to take a 4th Place finish at the tournament on Lake Whitney and a 2nd Place victory on their home lake, Lake Belton. They also had the Big Fish at the Lake Belton tournament in May 2010.
In 2011, Alan Cox of Team Sharc Bait was now comfortable in the seat of TSA President and put together an outstanding tournament schedule for 2011. He also managed to pick dates where the weather cooperated!
The 1st tournament of the season was on Lake Granbury and Team Sharc Bait managed a 2nd Place win, weighing in a total of 12.76 pounds. That day had started out tough for Team Sharc Bait but they managed to catch two good Stripers in the afternoon to take 2nd Place.
The next tournament of the season was on Lake Whitney. Team Sharc Bait managed to take 5th place in this tournament with a total weight of 6.30 pounds. That 5th Place finish put Team Sharc Bait in the lead for the 2011 TSA Team of the Year Title.
The 3rd tournament of the 2011 Season was on Lake Texoma. The fishing conditions that day were difficult and Stripers were hard to find, but Team Sharc Bait managed to win 1st and Big Fish that day with a total weight of 6.54 pounds.
For the 4th tournament of the year the TSA fished on Lake Buchanan. A lot of fish were caught that day and once again Team Sharc Bait finished in the top. With a total weight of 8.16 pounds Alan and Greg finished 3rd and were able to hang on to the lead in 2011 TSA Team of the Year race.
By the time the 5th tournament had gotten under way Alan and Greg of Team Sharc Bait were hitting their stride. They were confident that they could do well in the 5th tournament on Lake Belton (their home lake), but they were up against some stiff competition. There were several very good teams fishing this tournament, really good teams. Although it was very very close, Greg and Alan weighed in a total of 16.58 pounds and also had the Tournament Big Fish with a HAWG Hybrid weighing in at 8.52 pounds. With this victory Team Sharc Bait was now firmly in the lead for the 2011 TSA Team of the Year Title.
The 6th tournament of the season was on Cedar Creek Lake. Once again it was Team Sharc Bait that again took the top spot by weighing in a total of 15.98 pounds. Alan and Gregg also had the big fish of the tournament with an 8.09 pound Hybrid. This was their 3rd 1st Place finish of the 2011 Season and the third time this year they had caught the tournament Big Fish. Team Sharc Bait was having a good season. Team Sharc Bait was now almost impossible to remove from the top position in the race for the TSA Team of the Year Title.
The 8th and final 2011 TSA Tournament was held on Lake Whitney, once of the best Striper lakes in Texas. Team Sharc Bait once again managed to take the 1st Place Honors weighing in a total of 28.73 pounds. Additionally, Team Sharc Bait won the Big Fish of The Year title with a 14.77 pound Striper. By totally dominating the finally tournament of the 2011 Season and catching the biggest Striper of the season in the final tournament, Team Sharc Bait proved that the 2011 TSA Team of The Year Title was not a flunk. Team Sharc Bait weighed in a total of 104.34 pounds, 25 pounds more than their closest competitor!
CONGRATULATIONS TEAM SHARC BAIT.................2011 TSA TEAM OF THE YEAR11
